James 3

Read James 3 – again, read it.  I just timed it and it took just 2 minutes plus 21 seconds to read, so please don’t say you don’t have time. And if your bible is not close, just put it in the search engine: James 3, and there you have it.  Let a verse speak to your heart before being influenced by anything I have to say.

The chapter title in my bible says:  Taming the Tongue.  The very first verse is one I am very cautious of when writing these blogs.  I am not here to teach, but to encourage.  I am not called to teach, but to learn… and happy (honored! grateful! blessed!) to share this journey with you.

James speaks about the tongue for :12 verses.  Did it grab your attention more than if he would have said, “speak kindly,” or something gentle like that?  There was nothing gentle about :8, “but no man can tame the tongue.  It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.”  This kind of conviction saves us from glossing over these words.  Remember, this is for you, not your spouse or your kids, or your boss, or your passengers (in my case).  James calls us to get our own selves in order.  He wants us to see what Jesus sees with clear eyes because only then can we bring it to the cross.

Verses :13-18 What kind of wisdom resonates with you?  If you recognize it as the one led by selfish ambition, pray about that.  Remember, Jesus loves you just as you are and he loves you too much to leave you that way!

1 Kings 10

Read 1 Kings 10 – Be fascinated by the Queen of Sheba. Who was this powerful woman who traveled across the desert with an entourage, spices, gifts, and gold? One speculation said the journey took 3 years.

There were many belief systems and pagan religions where she came from, yet she was seeking truth.   She made that great journey because of the rumors she heard about King Solomon.

Look at all there is to discover in 10:7-9.  Solomon was even greater in wisdom and wealth than the rumors, his people were surely happy. And the Queen recognized that this was the Lord’s doing.

Beloved,  may your reputation go before you, reflecting the Lord’s favor and love,  as you seek Him everyday.  May your heart long for the truth and wisdom found only in Jesus.💖🙏🏻🙌👑📖🤓💖

Psalm 119:17-32

Monday!  Monday!  Read Psalm 119:17-32 – Then read it again, slowly, as if the words are yours.  Our psalmist is leaning in to the Lord’s word.  He is refreshed.  He is learning to live brand new and it is wonderful!  “Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.  Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.” 119:17-18….”I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word .”119:28  Have you ever felt so bogged down by life that you cried out for wisdom?  “Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.”119:29  Yes, I can be my worst enemy, I can justify and get lost in lying to myself – and yet, here is this privilege – this privilege of God’s Word – this privilege of prayer, always ready to lead me forward.  “I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding.”119:32  Beloved, Jesus has so much for you!  Lean in, ask, pray, confess and repent… living clean and refreshed is the absolute best!🤗🛁🙏🏻📖🙏🏻🛁🤗
