Psalm 119:113-128

Monday!  Monday! – read Psalm 119:113-128 – These are words of rescue.

I wonder if Elijah had access to them?  Could you imagine him in that cave, meditating on, “You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope…. Lord, sustain me as you promised, that I may live!  Do not let my hope be crushed.” (119:114,116)  And maybe, these are just the words you need to receive this fine day.

“My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled.”  My friends, even if you are not in a trial today, you most certainly will be at some point.  Train yourself now to look for rescue.  Hold tightly to the truth of the Lord’s promises.  Prepare your heart to do what James instructs, “Consider it great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials,” James 1:2

Psalm 119:

Monday!  Monday! – Read Psalm 119:97-112 – Current global/ local news events have my heart off balance.  Our Psalmist writes:  I HAVE SUFFERED MUCH, O LORD; RESTORE MY LIFE AGAIN AS YOU PROMISED. 116:107 And I thought of the hope it takes to endure suffering with rescue as a light at the end of the tunnel.  My friend, whatever you are going through, keep your eyes on Jesus.  This is not your forever.  He is your forever!  Though the wicked set traps, do not stray from the Lord’s commands(119:110).  God’s Word will keep you wiser than your enemies(119:98).  There is so much to hope for when we walk with the Lord.  Beloved, may your day be led with the goodness and love of Jesus Christ, our Savior.🏳🏳🙏🏻☝️🙏🏻🏳🏳

Psalm 119:65-80

Monday! Monday! Read Psalm 119:65-80 – “I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.” 119:67 The path to maturity is so funny. Arrogance and breaking boundaries seem like the way to declare one’s self… until the conclusion is reached (hopefully), that being constantly disciplined is no way to live. “Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant, ” 119:77. Beloved, which verses in our passage are just for you? There is so much wisdom – rest in it and find your way. 📖⏳🌞⚓🎶🌅📖

Read Psalm 119:33-48

Monday!  Monday!  As a normal course of reading, we refresh ourselves every Monday with a selection from Psalm 119… which is the longest chapter in the Bible. Old Testament reading can face some harsh things at times, and infusing it with these beautiful, wise, life-giving Scriptures adds balance.

Unfortunately, I have been a bit under the weather, and behind in posting, so please excuse the fact that today is not Monday at all, as I catch up.

Read Psalm 119:17-32 – Then read it again, slowly, as if the words are yours.  Our psalmist is leaning in to the Lord’s word.  He is refreshed.  He is learning to live brand new and it is wonderful!  “Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.  Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.” 119:17-18….”I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word .”119:28  Have you ever felt so bogged down by life that you cried out for wisdom?  “Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.”119:29  Yes, I can be my worst enemy, I can justify and get lost in lying to myself – and yet, here is this privilege – this privilege of God’s Word – this privilege of prayer, always ready to lead me forward.  “I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding.”119:32

Beloved, Jesus has so much for you!  Lean in, ask, pray, confess and repent… living clean and refreshed is the absolute best!🤗🛁🙏🏻📖🙏🏻🛁🤗
